“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way…things I had no words for.”
~Georgia O’Keeffe~
I am an artist/ designer living and working in the NW IN and Chicago, IL area. I have been driven by all things visual as far back as I can remember, & have been creating my entire life. I also have a passion for mid-century modern furniture & design. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The International Academy of Design & Technology, in Chicago, IL, majoring in Interior Design.
I feel lucky to be able to say that art has always been a part of my life. I often blend my love of art with my love of the written word, as I have been greatly affected by lyrics & poetry. The power of the written word is amazing…it made complete sense for me to combine the two.
My current work(which has not been posted here as of yet) explores the ideas of the Broken Heart & trying to keep hope afloat. This is something that I believe every human being can relate to. Please stay tuned for pictures that are coming soon. I am also excited about my new collaboration with Chicago portrait artist Rich Quinlan–we will be blending our very different & distinct styles…it should be interesting to say the least.
I also do store planning, window display, & interior design–specializing in smaller-scale projects, room re-do’s, and decorative paint and plaster finishes. I have almost ten years of visual merchandising experience; I started in fashion display, then spent six years with Pier 1 Imports, & am currently employed as a Lead Visual Merchandiser for a Chicago based Mattell Company. My dream is to have a small storefront shop–offering all types of design services, selling one of a kind home items, & of course a gallery space within. I’m still working on that one!
